Bobby Cole Bobby Caldwell Bobby Hutcherson Bobby Matos Bobby McFerrin Bobby Shew ... these are just a few of the many jazz musicians named Bobby. They're all quite good and each one has paved the road to today's feature -
Bobby Sanabria Big Band

Bobby Sanabria is a Grammy-nominated American drummer, percussionist of Puerto Rican descent who specializes in Latin jazz. Bobby was born and raised in the South Bronx of NY's 5 boroughs. His parents are from Guanica and Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. This makes Bobby a Boricua based on his family lineage. He mastered his initial musical talents at the Berklee College of Music between 1975 to 1979. His love for the art of Latin jazz has guided him with performances in the NYC school system and allowed him to teach and lecture musical talent globally. He has multiple Grammy nominations for his Latin jazz contributions to the arts.
Today's tracks includes Cannonball Adderly's Bohemia After Dark and Wayne Shorter's Speak No Evil. As well as Picadillo which has been revised by many and I can't find it's source. They're all bad ass Latin jazz tracks with bop and modality throughout. They'll make you feel culturally available and proud. Heck, you may want to raise a flag and put the block on notice that there's a party going on today!
Below are my 5NINE3 favorites to get you going and smiling.
Pink - Big Band Urban Folktales
Wordsworth HO! - Multiverse
Speak No Evil - Multiverse
Picadillo - Tito Puente Masterworks Live
Bohemia (Birdland) After Dark - Tito Puente Masterworks Live
Visit my 5NINE3 Latin Jazz Playlist as I feature a BIG BAND Giant's versions of American jazz classics. Enjoy the tracks and share them with your local jazz community.
